Hawzah News Agency- Brigadier General Gholamreza Jalali made the remarks during a meeting marking Passive Defense Week, stressing that the strategic approach of the late commander was rooted in the principles of passive defense — a doctrine focused on deterrence, resilience, and strategic concealment.
“The design and construction of missile cities based on passive defense regulations allowed Iran to establish a new balance of power in the region and impose its deterrent capability on the Zionist regime,” General Jalali stated.
He emphasized that the recent 12-day confrontation demonstrated both the achievements of Iran’s defense strategy and the importance of addressing existing vulnerabilities, particularly in critical infrastructure. “Wherever passive defense regulations were fully and correctly implemented, threats were minimized,” he added.
Highlighting the continued need for vigilance, the general said Iran’s Passive Defense Organization is implementing new programs and exercises aimed at enhancing national preparedness and operational readiness in the face of evolving hybrid threats.
General Jalali also paid tribute to Iran’s martyrs, stressing that the spirit of sacrifice and resistance remains the driving force behind the Islamic Republic’s security and strength. “Our nation’s security today is the result of the martyrs’ steadfastness and the faith of their families,” he said.
He further underlined that passive defense extends beyond military measures to encompass cultural, media, and educational dimensions, calling for a comprehensive approach to strengthening national resilience and countering cognitive and psychological warfare.
General Jalali concluded that in the face of modern combined warfare and information-based threats, Iran’s strategy remains grounded in vigilance, preparedness, and faith — principles that continue to secure the nation’s sovereignty and deterrence power.
